Farber Hebrew Day School - Yeshivat Akiva is currently seeking exceptional candidates to apply for Early Childhood Center Paraprofessional positions. Both full and part time positions are available.

Job Purpose

The Early Childhood Center Paraprofessional works closely with the classroom teacher to implement educational activities that meet the social, emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and creative needs of individual students, and ensure that the children are well cared for and safe.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be an active member of the classroom, playing interacting and guiding the students.
• Model good behavior by showing the children how to do the task rather than telling them how to do it
• Understand current early childhood education practices
• Discuss and support the behavior policies implemented by the classroom teacher
• Accompany the class to and from and remain with them during all special classes
• Maintain the cleanliness of the classroom
• Change children’s diapers and/or assist children using the bathroom
• Ability to lift children, bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing and pulling, and sitting and walking

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, office and school based staff, students, parents, and community
• Demonstrated professionalism, responsibility, and a strong work ethic
• Positive attitude and a drive for personal excellence

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Two – three years experience working with young children
• Early Childhood degree/CDA, a plus
